Poetry with Aidaa Peerzada

Over the summer, writer and performance artist, Aidaa Peerzada led a poetry and writing program that helped open up the minds and eyes of the young people who participated. In the fall, she delivered a poetry-based learning experience to youth currently involved in the criminal justice system.

In the program, students discovered and examined the work of prominent African-American writers, such as Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou and Gwendolyn Brooks.
